Step 1: Back up your Google account

On your previous Android device, go to Settings > Backup & reset or Settings > Accounts and backup > Backup and restore.

Turn on the options for Back up my data and Automatic restore. This will make restoring your account settings on your new device a breeze.

Step 2: Back up your photos and videos

On your previous device, go to your Google Photos app, tap on the icon on the top right, go to Photos settings > Back up & sync, and turn it on. Select the account you wish to back up to.

Make sure your Wi-Fi is turned on before you start backing up.

Step 3: Restore your Google account

Power up your new device and follow the onscreen instructions to set up your Google account. Use your existing Gmail address and password that you used on your previous device.

Your previous apps, settings, and contacts will be automatically restored to your new device. Do a quick check to make sure everything made it over.

Step 4: Restore your photos and videos
